A Study on the Degree of Medical Service Satisfaction and Need by Some Community Population

Abstract
|
|
|
The purpose of this study is to assess the degree of medical service satisfaction and need by those who utilized the medical services, For this study 1500 questionnaires were distributed to Daejeon citizen from April 12, 1999 to May 15, 1999. 499 cases were available. We analysed them for this study.
The major findings were as follows :
Ⅰ. The significant factors influencing the utilization of medical service were distance(38.6%), fame of hospital(14.6%) in out-patients and fame of hospital(18.9%), emergency(15.7%) in in-patients.
Ⅱ. 57.1% of the respondents was unsatisfied in administrative procedure and services. especially the unsatisfation in waiting time for medical service was the highest(63.8%).
Ⅲ. In regards hospital environments, 47.4% of the respondents was unsatisfied. especially the unsatisfation in rest space of hospital was the highest(65.4%).
Ⅳ. We evaluate the degree of satisfactory medical services on a 5 point scale. "1" being the lowest in satisfaction and "5" the highest
The score of satisfactory medical services were 2 ~ 3 point. patients showed a satisfaction below median level for most services. They thought parking lots were very inconvenient(2.0).
Ⅴ. As a results of medical service utilization, reform of waiting time was the highest(22.2%), and administrative procedure and service (21.0%). In the future, They want night medical service system and auto receipt machine installation.
